lol I just replied to you saying I hope you enjoy reading it at the weekend :P Hun I'm really happy you like it, and that the characters are right - that's the most important thing with AU, because obviously everything else is so different. I really love Strictly Come Dancing; it's on once a year in Britain, whereas in the US they do two seasons a year... so the British one is longer - we have 16 couples! It generally runs for three months. The guy who won this year wasn't the best dancer but he improved so much over the series and he was so sweet that everyone just loved him - I met him a little while back and he still can't believe he won, lol! My Mum has this uncanny ability to pick the winner in the first show - this year I'm going to put a bet on whoever she picks at the beginning ( ... )

You know, I took a latin ballroom class last fall and had to compete in a competition. I learned Merengue, salsa, bachata, swing, and the a version of the hustle the prof called Merengue-hustle. It's not as easy as it looks, but I did get fifth place is salsa.

I love how he mistakes "partner" for boyfriend. I love how you are setting this up. Can't wait to read more.

And you had to use the word assuage. I hate that word. It stumped me on the GRE.

I knew *someone* would see the partner trick... silly John! ;) I love salsa dancing - I haven't done a lot of it, or any kind of ballroom (I was very much ballet and tap) but I do enjoy it! And it is a LOT harder than it looks - in fact making it look easy is half the challenge in my opinion, lol!

Thanks so much for the comment Padme, and sorry for the use of the word assuage... I promise not to use it again - I hope that assuages any trepidation in reading the rest. :P

It sure is a lot harder than it looks. Way harder. We spent a whole class learing how to spin into the guy and dip. And my partner for the copetition we had to do wasn't from my class. He was from a regular ballroom class so I had to learn waltz and foxtrot at the last minute.

Don't worry, now that I know what the word means, it doesn't bother me. I've just never seen the word outside of that damned test. I've taken it twice and only gottne the score I need in math. I'm I have a degree in English, yet I havne't heard of half of the words on the test.
