I don't have to have alcohol. I like it, sure. I don't like being drunk. I do not have to be drunk or even tipsy to have fun. Once on youtube.com I came across a video in which some starlet (don't know her name) exits a car together with P. Hilton. The queen of the cheap glitzy magazines shouts and waves to the operator: "Don't film, don't film" after which she quickly disappears behind the corner. A moment later a starlet approaches the operator and says nervously: "This is about Paris Hilton. I was in her apartment yesterday, she abused me, she beat me, she scratched me with her nails! I want everybody to know that." And then the starlet turns and quickly walks in the direction in which Miss Hilton disappeared.
The same situation.

I don't have to spend time with people like this. I normally don't. The majority of my friends like drinking to the point that it's the first suggestion for what to do on a night out. I have no problem with this. I can deter them by suggesting a movie or other activity if I really don't want to go out drinking. These people are not among my closest friends but it is not because of this alone.
The whole point of this post is that I just found out one of my closest friends has changed, specifically on their attitudes towards drinking. Normally people of the opinion they expressed are not even included among my not-so-close friends. So now I have to face it and I am not looking forward to it.
