You have established the Civic, Civilization IV. Do you wish to install this Civic in your life?
- Yes. Revolution will generate n turns of Useless.
- No. I know better than to start down that road.

I might be willing to try multiplayer mode....later. A decent while later. Particularly once they've got that Pit Boss feature upgrade in there.

So how is it? I'm heartbroken to find the suggested minimum system reqs are just a teeny bit more than my Thinkpad can handle (1.2 GHz to my 1.0), but I'm going to get it one way or the other if it's half as good as the reviews I've seen would imply.

Have they fixed the annoying way the AI civs would start a tech cartel against you in Civ 3, sharing all their stuff and shutting you out?

Are there any decent measures to keep young empires from expanding to ridiculous, ahistorical sizes?

Is the new Alpha Centauri-like government system as cool as it sounds?

Are artillery-like units any good now?

Have they really made the end game more exciting and harder to avoid getting into? It always felt in II and III that if you were still playing by 1500, you were being punished somehow...

I was planning on putting together a full-fledged Civ review when I actually have a coherent grasp of all of it. Being a Civ game, it's a wee bit expansive ( ... )
