“They were easy because I had someone in my thoughts that kept me going. Heather, the thought of you kept my mind sharp. Kept me together. They may have broken my spirit but they couldn’t take you away from me.”

Awwwww

“What the hell is it about my head that makes people think I like to be knocked out?”

Perhaps it's fortunate he's got a hard head.

“I’m sure you can understand my concern for Heather.”

“That still doesn’t explain the gun to the temple thing though.”

Jake sighed. “I’m sure you can understand my disdain for you.”

Ok, this was amusing. Not the whole assault thing, just the conversational tone of the whole thing.

“You know the rules Heather. We need to take him in and get him checked out.”

This should be interesting. Although, given the usual reaction to being recognized, perhaps he should wear a helmet?

Indeed. I'm a little sad we never got to see the Major scrap on the TV show, because I have the feeling he'd be a terrific scrapper. Granted, he had five hundred men to fight for him, but it still would be kinda fun to see who'd come out on top in a fist fight between Beck and just about anyone.

And so very cool between the two of them. I really love Jake/Beck understanding moments and I'd like to give them at least one in this fic, if not more.

Lol, poor guy is without his gear this time around.

Oooooohhhh, me too...both parts of this. I'm sorry we never got to see it because maybe he would have had to take off that stinkin' uniform, and because I, too, think he would be a terrific scrapper. :)

Happy days are here again...there's been an update here again - happy days are here again...YAY!!! :)

Okay - in no particular order...

Poor Beck. Damn Jake. Go Heather! LOL

The scenes with Heather kissing Beck's back - I'm melting. Guh. Very sweet, very sensuous, very loving.

Beck's story of what happened to him...no, no, no! The thought of anyone doing that to our Beck breaks my heart. I'm glad they didn't execute him, but it's just too sad. :(

In the words of nativefloridian: awwwwwww.

Once again, I was reading this at work - thankfully, after everybody else had left - so my yelp of TABLE SEX! YES! followed by damn you, Jake! went unheard by anybody but me. LOL But it was hot, hot, hot - up until Jake broke in, of course. Which was actually kinda funny. Quite the moment of "oh, shit" for so many reasons.

He was starting ( ... )

Last final was this afternoon and I have nothing to do until January on account of being laid up with my knee, so look forward to another rash posting of chapters in the coming month

In all honesty, he probably would have been executed, especially when the three countries actually went to war with one another since he was technically an AS officer that switched sides. Totally traitor charge with that one. BUT, after finding out how the army executes people, I didn't want to write a scene like that. I'd be afraid it'd give me nightmares.

TABLE SEX! YES!

Thought you'd like that. These two need to christen every available location in Heather's house. Stat.

Seriously. Beck also didn't (as far as I can tell) strap Jake to a metal bed frame and run electric ( ... )

Yay! Well, not that you have a bum knee over the holidays, that sucks. I've done that. But the posting spree, yay!

Yay that finals are done (good luck); boo that you have to be laid up on account of your knee; yay that you'll be posting more. :)

Yes, he would have - unless he truly did have information or there was some value to keeping him alive. I'm willing to suspend reality for (a) his continued existence, and (b) the story you're telling.

Twice. ;)

I can see how he'd consider Constantino and Beck on the same level of evil as far as their actions goI can see it, too. Although he didn't seem to object too much when he and Hawkins were looking for Eric in New Bern. Granted, Hawkins only threatened torture...hmmmm...I need to rewatch that episode to remind myself of the conversation with Hawkins - the one where Hawkins says ( ... )

I just wanted to say I am really loving this story so far. Like the breakfast and the cuddling.

Poor Beck is probably starting to think, "Why does everyone keeping hitting me? This is REALLY getting annoying..."
