[Happy fangirl sigh...]

Thank you!!! I need to re-read again before reviewing in more detail, but I actually did a little happy dance in my office chair when I saw this yesterday. Too bad I left my popcorn at home... ;)

I love this fic more each time I read it. I won't tell you how many times that's been, though [cough].

He’d noticed her immediately, the first time that he’d been introduced to her

This was what started my Beck-love. Heather was - and is - my favourite character in Jericho, and I loved the fact that Beck (a) noticed her the minute she walked in; and (b) SAW her the minute she walked in. As in, he knew something was up with that New Bern deputy just from the look she had, while poor, clueless, blind Jake didn't notice what or who was bothering her. I love Jake, too, but he's not the brightest bulb sometimes. :)

She was confuse now, giving him a strange look, and he realized he’d been staring. And now he was blushing.

Guh. A staring, blushing Beck. I feel faint...

She burst out laughing at that one. “All right, now you’re going to have to share your thoughts because I’ve never seen you blush before. And I need to know what it takes to get that sort of response.”

Don't ask questions! Just jump him!! LOL

If he didn’t ( ... )

I completely agree with ShirleyAnn here. I think I was completely intrigued that Beck noticed Heather when she walked in. I'd like to believe it wasn't just because he noticed that she noticed the deputy, but that he noticed her, gave her the once over, without trying to act like he was giving her the once over :) I tend to squee now when I rewatch that scene -- and that would be because I'm a sappy dork...

And he’d met her once. Ok, now that makes me curious, because it sounds like he knew her long before she knew him. Interesting plot bunny...

“Come back to the table?” Ok, my mind's in the gutter because the first thing I thought was 'Because it's nice and sturdy...' (grins sheepishly)

There was an evil glint in his eyes that Beck felt he would get to know very well in the coming days as she approached him and pushed him again until he was backed against the counter Hehe! Go Heatther -- take advantage of him! :)

He chuckled at her urgency then had to keep himself from laughing loudly as she reversed their positions Her ( ... )

I squee too. My stomach likes to do little flips now.

Like I told ShirleyAnn, I was still running off the idea that they'd met at the camp in Wyoming, or wherever the hell she was. It unsettles me that they just magically produced her a month later without anyone being all 'WTF?'

And I agree with ShirleyAnn, getting the counter broken in wouldn't have been such a bad thing.

I considered it and it would have been hell hot but there's no way they wouldn't have woken up the kid. And that would be awkward. And not in a funny situational sort of way.

I'm guilty of doing that with your story. I keep going back and re-reading it loving it more each time.

I actually was still operating under the belief that they'd met at Camp Liberty when Hoffman started deploying troops to Jericho. I think that's my biggest plot hole peeve. What the hell happened to Heather for the month she wasn't there?

poor, clueless, blind Jake didn't notice what or who was bothering her

Yeah, I found that silly as well that Jake was just pissed that the guy had a gun and happy that Heather was back never considering that she was honestly fearful of the man. Jake, awefully pretty. Not so smart. lol

Ain't that the truth?? Really, how long has it been? I'm amazed they made it to the bedroom. LOL
