Tomorrow I take my second final of the year, and with that out of the way, I will have completed everything I need to do for my undergraduate degree.

Everything.

I'll be done.

...

This is terrifyingI've been pretty spotty about everything online, and that will at least hopefully clear up after this. It'll be nice to see if I can get some of ( Read more... )

the song Adventures in Solitude is trying to give me a post- high fantasy story

This makes me feel better about the fact that there are at least two songs that have been giving me fic ideas. ...although it doesn't make me feel better about the fact that I haven't written anything fictional in, like, two years. CRY

Also! What sort of post-high fantasy story? And how does the urban fantasy work? I am curious!

I got my diploma yesterday. It was weird. There was more text on it than I was expecting, somehow. And... it's just weird. Although I'm still looking ahead at five years of school still (maybe more), so at least I don't need to worry about finding a job yet. Agh. Real world = pretty damn scary.

Man, songs are weirdly good for song ideas, if you listen to the right kind of songs. VNV Nation and Covenant are especially cinematic. the idea I've got is about two people - a soldier and an, I don't know, diplomat - coming back to the same small village after one of those Big Epic War things and... dealing with the war being over. The urban fantasy thing has a secret organization that deals with crazy stuff happening a la Stargate: SG1 or Torchwood, though the lead character is a lot more Harkness-ish than O'Neill-ish. ...maybe. Now that I look at them, this guy might just be a midpoint.

Also he's a giantass wolf a la Bigby Wolf from Fable, which realworld Sam has told me about but which I have never read.

...I bet there's a way I could work SeeD into this, too.

The Real World needs to not be horrifying.
