Umka's Kindness- Wind Sweeping Across Globe

Following a chance meeting in Chicago's "O'Hairyport," I've stayed in touch with Umka.
After I asked how I could purchase her music, a package arrived packed with free CD's
and vinyl.  I read how she invites friends and friends of friends to her performances
without a cover charge.  How does she earn a living??  I feel like an embarrassed American

This is the English translation lifted off their US-issued vinyl album. Your gut feeling was right - there ain't no puppies nor ice creams in this song. Umka is doing her own translations, they can be found here http://www.umka-bro.com/english/albums/... )

Well, that's because you ARE an American capitalist :-P Considering that this is UMKA one just doesn't take free stuff from her - Odin is my witness she doesn't charge much and even then people find the way to pay less than she asks. Personally I made a point of buying something at her concerts even if I have a copy of pretty much everything of her at home. I can always give it away to me friends, right? How she survives for so long without turning into the customary money-grabbing musical box like everybody else in this business is getting bafflinger and bafflinger with every year.
As for her songs rest assured - Umka doesn't do "fluffy" nor "cute". I thought this was kinda obvious from just looking at her but if you need an affidavit to that effect I can send you one, notarized and everything. Or you can check out the site in the post above.

I don't understand why you the answerers are so unfriendly. And notice, it is a rule.
Bill is a very nice person and not a capitalist at all. He is a doctor.

I guess I am generally unfriendly except to the homeless cats. But here I am just acting amused rather than unfriendly. Maybe even a bit sarcastic but nothing more, I swear. Not everybody gets me but I am kinda used to that - I was trained to do a lot of things, but I don't do "nice". Except "Have a nice day" which I urge everybody to start having right away.

Thanks for your comments and especially the beautiful,
haunting lyrics that exemplify how Umka is an amazing
poet as well as musical artist. I did not find others' comments
to be particularly mean; rather, to the point with a bite, no
nonsense. Besides, I opened the door. Finally, I could learn
from Umka's life of mission over materialism.

Didn't bother to log in. Just in case it isn't
obvious, "anonymous" here and above is Bill.
I can provide an affidavit if necessary :)
