Kudos for all the heat and dust, Mary with the career's-not-working blues shifting to things-that-really-matter, and a Disneyland honeymoon. Is a little part of her thinking that's the nearest she'll ever get to a rabbit hole, and not deep down realising how enormously privileged she is to be surrounded by people for whom rabbit holes are real?

I think the answer to your question is in the next chapter and that it's some of both. What has evolved for Mary too is that she's come to see herself as the advocate on Peter's behalf -- behind every great man, there's a really pushy woman -- and I say this in the kindest and most generous of ways. Some of it is seeing him succeed where she cannot; but injustice deeply in her as well.

Squee. I don't know how you expect me to write rationally when I am stuffed full with good stuff. I'm not sure what I expected from Ghost Ranch, but this wasn't it. I'm a huge Georgia O'Keefe fan and I will confess a little bit of disappoint that Georgia didn't appear. I assume that you wanted them there as the ghosts of Richard and Narnia are clearly following our not so happy couple around.

I love the thought of Mary and Peter honeymooning at Disneyland. I'll give extra on-line Kudos if you make Aslan appear in the Jungle Book ride! And maybe on a trip or two through It's a Small World After All :) :) It could happen, really, it could.

Ghost Ranch is the name of the place and one of the few where there was active paleontological work going on in the 50s. I'd had my eye on it for a while and decided to use it here. Thanks again. The next chapter is up.
