I remember now; this is how it used to be

I read In which Edmund and Eustace talk philosophical theology in which I thought the author did an interesting job of applying Aquinas' analogical theory of knowing God to the Chronicles (I agree with metonomia 's point that the fandom is way too quick to draw direct parallels-allegories that can lead to some very uncomfortable places).  I thought one ( Read more... )

Awesome! It's really terrible in a way how long it has been since it worked out this way. I mostly play in the Narnia fandom and the last year or so has made me a very wary and a grudging reviewer. In fact, I usually read profiles first and if I get the I'm a good Christian who believes that everyone not exactly like me is going to hell, I don't bother because if I do review, I'll get either: "thank you but I won't R&R your work because you what you write is not Narnia and you are immoral"; or I get the "oh thank you so much, I've read so much of your work" yet she's never left a review leading me to conclude that she's too ashamed to admit it to her cohort.

So excellent all the way around and thanks so much!

Mercury Gray has been on my author alert list on ff.net for years - I've even reviewed some of her works! (And those reviews would be from Wise Queen ;) *waves to hms_mercury*)

I only read the Narnia and Middle-earth stories, though. Two large fandoms are enough for me - at least so far.
Also I'm currently very far behind in my ff.net reading. There are December alerts I haven't had time to read yet. January is such a busy month.
