1. Your process as outlined has a lot of feedback from others, even in the very earliest stages. Would you say that getting such feedback all through is a necessary part of writing well? What advice do you have for someone who doesn't have a group to call on?
2. You say you leave the story alone for months to be able to see it with fresh eyes. I've had the experience of working on history projects, and then the red-hot pelting stage of engagement being interrupted by circumstance, and simply losing the momentum of the writing. Does this not happen for you? Or if it does, how do you recapture the drive of the idea?
