I enjoyed this drabble! I like that Sirius had even more fun with it than Harry. :)

That was really sweet! I like the idea of Remus making something for little baby Harry, and then later for little Teddy! Really a sweet story.

Aw, yes, I love the thought of Remus (at long last?) being able to look back at memories of his lost friends with gladness instead of pain and regret.

(But, augh, foreshadowing of next Christmas, when he won't actually be around to make a puzzle for Teddy...?)

I take it back! I've decided to believe this is By A Thread-verse (as you suggest below), and Remus DOES make the jigsaw next year. ;-D

Would anybody else like to add their support to a petition for Shimotsuki to cheer us all up and write this as one of her contributions?!?
;P

If this wasn't a sad thinking, she didn't even want to imagine what the sad ones were like...

Indeed. Ouch.

But -- it's lovely to see Remus happy and remembering things, and lovely to see the two of them so contented together.

If only Remus had had a chance to make that puzzle, the next year!

Thank you! And speaking of remembering things, thank you also for all the Sirius Christmas memories, which I borrowed straight out of Kaleidoscope :)
That will always be canon to me... perhaps, in By A Thread-verse, Remus did make the jigsaw?

Aww! I'm glad that that Sirius left a footprint on your fic. And of course when I read yours, I thought, "How awfully sad that Remus never got to make the jigsaw for Teddy. Or maybe he even made it over DH winter but never got to see Teddy open it for Christmas. ...I'll just retreat back into denial-land before I think about that too much."

Thinking cap is now on!

Oh, I do love Remus' ingenuity in creating the jigsaw, and then the unexpected reward of Sirius getting even more fun out of it than Harry. And even though the mentions of the other Marauders and Lily are brief, how exactly right they all seem - especially Peter buying 'a whole stack of picture books'. (To keep up with the others or simply thinking of Harry, I wonder?)

There's something heart-warming about this little story: whether it's Remus remembering the past with affection rather than regret, or the ease and understanding between him and Tonks. Lovely. :)
