I'd love to be able to put it to its melody in my mind...any chance you could link to somewhere where we can hear a recording of the original melody?
Anyway, even without music, it's lovely! I had no idea what to expect when you mentioned you were writing lyrics, but this is delightful.

I'm really pleased that you like it!
I can have a look once I get back home and see what I can find :)

I have the melody in my head when I look at it now, so I wasn't sure how it would read on its own.

What a lovely idea. I can imagine singing this in my head - it's probably a long way away from the real melody, lol - and am impressed how much characterisation (and Remus angst!) you've got in there. My favourite is the last verse but they're all delightful.

Ah yes, no R/T New Year's Eve dancing without some Remus angst, I'm afraid. At least not in this era ;)
I'm all for a singing section in our next event :)

This says so much in just a few lines -- I love the third stanza a lot, but my very favorite lines are probably these:
Yes, he might be old, but the moon is brand new
Just for tonight, he'll pretend this is true
*sniff*...

I tried to let their characters shine through even though it's short, so I'm happy you felt that way!
