No, I believe they are completely the creation of JKR. Apparently they are cat-like, magical creatures that take an instant dislike to anyone sinister or untrustworthy. I"m assuming this one just hadn't been around Remus long enough yet to learn what a good guy he is, in spite of his furry little problem.

Very nice! I was glad to see some AU goodness. There have been a lot of great fics in this challenge but alot are a little to forshadowy of angst to come in DH!

I'm right there with ya! I have been re reading the 1st 6 books, but I have no plans to re read DH! I'm very conflicted about seeing the 2-part movie when it comes out. Don't think I want to see that certain scene!
