That was QUICK! Thank you so much, m'dear! And WHOOPS I just realised I used the "water running through hands" image twice...*ahem* I promise I did proofread!! Many times! (Are we allowed to edit fics once we've posted them? I'd like to change that)

Dude. I never even thought of that possibility. Ohhhh, teacher!Remus....
Well, it always bugged me that Dolohov apparently managed to kill him when he's come off unscathed from so many battles, so I decided that that was possibly how it happened in my mind. And I think he would put his students before himself, definitely.

This was really wonderful. It has to be the first fic I've seen with Remus dying to protect students, which now that I think about it is something perfectly in character, definitely something Remus would do - thank you for bringing up that possibility! Lovely fic, I'd love to see more from you. :)

Thank you very much! I think the idea of him dying that way came up in a discussion with a friend - we just couldn't see how else Dolohov had managed to kill him, when Remus had never been hurt in a battle before! I'm glad you liked it!

I really liked this. It's just lovely...I love the four scenes you picked, especially the second one.

For some reason, I really love this bit of interaction.

"Why are you down here, anyway? It's late." She pauses, reconsidering. "...Or really, really early."

"Oh, I know. I just thought I'd wait to check you got back safely."

The warmth remains on his face as he speaks, and with a jolt she remembers why she is falling in love with him, the last remnants of the silly grudge she is holding at once falling away to welcome their usual softness. They balance each other out nicely, she thinks. She drops drinks cups, he catches them; he is Master of Self-Control, she turns her nose into mushrooms and pig snouts at dinnertimes.

I really enjoyed this!

As strange as this sounds, I *love* how Remus died in your fic. Most death!fics have him dying as a result of being distracted by Tonks, or protecting Tonks from Bellatrix, or something of that nature... and him dying to protect the Hogwarts students is *such* a Remus thing to do. We could totally *feel* Tonks's anguish and heartbreak at seeing his lifeless body there, knowing what he'd done, and that he'd done it on purpose, to protect the kids....

It was *gorgeous*. I loved reading the progression of their relationship, from how it started, to how it ended. It was beautifully written. ♥

Yeah, most of the ones I've read have involved something to do with Tonks too. I don't know, I'm not opposed to the idea, in fact it's quite possible that he was distracted by Tonks, I think. But I liked the idea that he died for his students too. There's a line in Deathly Hallows that says something about Harry seeing that Dean's got himself a new wand from someone, and I think it's possible that it's Lupin's wand. When someone first suggested that to me, I didn't really like the idea, but then we started talking about how Dean always thought Lupin was a great teacher and seemed to admire him, so it might be sort of poignant for Dean to get his wand.

Yeah, I can definitely see him being distracted or something by Tonks (something along the lines of "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE WHAT ABOUT OUR *BABY* DARN IT", haha) and I'm okay with that too, but I really do like this one better. I don't know why. xD Maybe because it's original and I haven't read anything quite like it yet? But yes - I *definitely* liked - loved the fic.
