Ah no, that's just too sad :( It's a heartwrenching play on words. My one quibble would be the phrase "split seconds ago" - it feels dissonant to me because it pulled me out for just a moment and made me wonder how literally you meant that. Sometimes that's great, but here I found it distracting from the bit that follows.

And they expect you to work at work? The nerve! Harumph! Things had better settle down soon, missy. The world is still waiting on that final chapter of Blood... ;-)

Yeah, I wasn't too happy with that, either. I was so tired when posting last night that the brain wasn't cooperating to find something else, though. "Moments" might work better, and I like the phrase 'split moments.'

I know, I feel so bad about Blood...so so late on the last chapters. I'd be totally shocked if it still had readers at this point :/.

Just some (hopefully) encouragement re Blood - it's virtually the only reason I check Fanfiction - have really enjoyed it, and hope that you have the satisfaction of finishing it when time allows.

Thank you! It really is in the works. The rough drafts are on my computer but entering the corporate work world has been an eye-opener time-wise. I need to start dedicating an hour every evening to finishing it up and getting it posted. It'll feel good to finish it, and just know that it really is important to me. :)

Thank you! I have to go to this retreat for work this weekend, but I'm going to try and get some more drabbles written.

Job is great, just intense. Most people put in at least a 55 hour week and for someone used to sneaking off at 3 pm when she's bored, corporate life is a *whole* 'nother world! ;)

Thanks, Anna! I really loved the pic for that prompt and wanted to find some way to bring them together through it the little bottle. It ended up being in a more angsty way than I had planned, though.
