Nice start, I like this. I've never really been desperately thrilled by fics in which Remus and Tonks lay eyes on each other and fall in love at first sight - I find it far more likely that they got to be friends and feelings evolved on from there - and this fic seems a nice set up for that. :) One tiny britpick if I may - I live not too far from Stratford-on-Avon and it's definately known as a town rather than a city. :)

Thank you. As for the Brit-pick - it's more than welcome! I'm not British, the most time I spent in Britain was on the tarmac at Hethrow, and so I'm sort of fumbling. To me, city and town are synonymous, which isn't right but I define things with "urban" or "rural" or "large" or "small", mostly because a lot of small towns in the US can be called "City" such as Dow City, Iowa, which has maybe four people (okay, fourteen). But yeah...I'll make that adjustment.

Promising start - I love 'road trip' stories, especially ones where the characters are really testing the waters and getting to know one another along the way. Lots of nice parallels. It is, as you say, different from your usual style but I like it - engaging, good dialogue and shows off the characters to good effect.

Me too! The first story I ever wrote with this pairing was mid-assignment. I'm trying not to make Remus super-mopey this time around and flexing my writing muscles, so to speak. Thanks!

I like it! I love fics that show the pre-romance relationship. Only critism I have really doesn't have a thing to do with your writing but Tonks wiping her greasy palm on her jeans ..... eeeeewwwwww. The mother in me came out and I actually wondered if she knew just how hard that would be to get out? ;) But then again, it's something I see Tonks doing.
