Hockey Wives: Season 1, Episode 8

May 13, 2015 18:50

This is the last episode of the season. Nicole Brown doesn't appear in it at all. The show spends some time with Noureen DeWulf at home. The other six women converge on Toronto for an event for Tiffany and George Parros's clothing lines. What made this episode stand out from the others is how much it really is focused on the women, with only a few ( Read more... )

I’d just like to thank you for all your writings throughout the episodes. They have all been great reads and even if you don’t do commentary on the second season, I’m just glad you wrote about this season ( ... )

♥ Thank you so much! I'm glad you've enjoyed these posts.

The lack of Jenny and Wendy was so interesting. This was supposed to be a show about ten women, but it seemed like the show decided for whatever reason not to actually feature Jenny and Wendy.

I definitely did not like the way Nicole and Dustin's relationship seems to be her as the parent so he can be a teenager, but what I liked most about Nicole was how much she owns her own choices. Her life didn't just happen to her; she chose to drop out of school to go be with Dustin, she chose to be a mom, and she chose to have four children.

I think Tiffany probably has some interesting insights into the differences in some of the women's lives, but I agree that the way she treats people is not okay.

Tiffany and Maripier's friendship is so awful! Someone in the comments of the previous posts said about figure skating, "typically most coaches are really rough and edgy and do things to push the skater. And I also think they give out praise sparingly." So maybe that's the pattern ( ... )

Enjoyed all of your recaps!

I'm glad to be done with Emilie and Maripier's storylines, though I am morbidly curious to see what happens with them in the future. (I just don't need to see it play out on my screen. *g*)

I thought the Barbie Blank closet cleaning part of the show was a total snore, but I loved Noureen and Ryan's adventures with the maternity coach, and the ax throwing was fun.

The show failed most when it showed the women's relationships with their partners, not because of the structure of the show but because the relationships themselves seem so dysfunctional.

I feel like Noureen and Ryan may be doing okay, and Tiffany and George actually seem to be mutually dysfunctional, if that makes sense (like, I don't feel like she's the touchy-feeliest person either, so maybe they suit each other), but otherwise...yeah. :/

♥ Thank you!

Ha! That's the problem with reality - you can't just go to Wikipedia and find out how the story ends.

I don't think I got enough of a sense of Ryan as either a person or a partner to have a good feel for his and Noureen's relationship. I do agree that Tiffany and George seem to be well-suited to each other, but, yeah, so awful.
