I share the same fascination with tracking my reading, and I haven't found anything that's made it easier than Goodreads--have you considered using that? It doesn't have to be social, though it can be entertaining to view other people's reviews.

I've never used Goodreads! I'm still completely old school about this. My current system is just to write down the dates, title, and author in a notebook that stays next to the couch (and my stacks of books), and then type them into an Excel spreadsheet at the end of the year and then use the mail merge function to get all the formatting for a post. Someday maybe I will move to a digital system, but this is working for me for now.
