Wow, this was amazing, and so worth waiting for (I was getting antsy for my own!). I love how fun it is to read the emotional drama here. I prefer pieces that are driven by characters and their emotions I so appreciate that you took my plot idea and still made it very character-driven. The ending is satisfying and this is the best kind of fluff. You probably don't even know this but I have a real love of soul-bonding fics for these two and also a whole bloodmagic head canon. I love the invention of new magic in HP fanfic. It definitely feels there could still be drama between this two. You got me right in the feels. I love it. I really do really really love it. This is so perfectly exactly the thing I like.

I know I have already gushed over this, but it's so good I'm reading it again. I love action/adventure fics! I liked the hint of it being a happy non-Voldemort world with the mention of 4 year old Harry, and the whole plot about Sirius needing rescuing by his pals from Dark rituals. Very exciting and creative!

Meep! This soul-bonding ritual strikes me as a very plausible (and frightening) old-fashioned Dark ritual. Super interesting. I'm so happy the fic took a fluffy turn in the end---though honestly, I imagine that Remus and Sirius are going to need a very special brand of couples counseling to help them work out issues while the threat of eternal togetherness hangs overhead! There's something ominous about forever, even when the partner is your soulmate. (Heh. Or perhaps I'm just not the audience for this trope.)

Is this Amelia eventually Amelia Bones, did you imagine?

Oh, I completely agree that they are going to need to talk a lot of things out, possibly with professional help, probably over the course of forever. I mean, Remus will probably eternally feel a little like Sirius only agreed to him because it was too late. And Sirius will probably always have lingering doubts that Remus was really only trying to help out a mate, not because he really wanted to spend the rest of his life with Sirius. But their doubts aside, they do love each other, so it will always come down to that.

The implied lack of consent in the soulmate trope is always rough, which is why this was less a soulmate thing and more a magic thing that they could have said no to... if they had had any other ideas. It's a trope than can be done well, with all the difficulties behind it taken into consideration, but I simply didn't have the time to do it justice... hence the magic. There will still be future difficulties, I'm sure, just as in any relationship that two people enter into. These just
