This was wonderful! You had me from the first paragraph; your description of how the constraints of poverty linger even after you've got more money, so that even a piece of fruit seems as precious as "hardened drops of sunlight" was spot-on, and with beautiful writing. I also loved all the meta-cracky musings about the difference between fiction and real life, i.e., "the Auror, for instance, had eyes so blue the sky was pale in comparison, had studied French pastry making, and had a ten inch cock - nargles were more real than he was." So glad I clicked on this fic.

Romance novelist Remus FTW! Thanks very much to abyss_valkyrie for the prompt, and to you for taking it up. I was totally in love with Sirius here. I have to use my pretty Sirius icon now. He was just so adorable and yummy. I liked how he recognized Remus in the books but not himself, and he had some great lines (“Babies are going to ruin every party from here on out, you’ll see.”). I'm sure that we all can identify with Remus' use of him as inspiration, because that's what we all do, too! I liked his unresponsiveness in the first kiss and then his very impressive 2nd kiss. And the last line was so... nawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

Oh, if there isn't a little bit of every fandom writer who has people in their lives who don't know about it in this story. I think we can all relate at least a little.

Your Remus was perfect, still carrying over all those little things about being poor that never really leave you. The wonders of being able to eat fresh food. A real haircut. Little luxuries that are taken for granted until you don't know where they're coming from. And even after he's no longer poor, they don't just go away. Absolutely lovely.

And your Sirius. That perfect blend of amazing friend and just a little bit cruel, not quite able to completely erase his upbringing. Yet, still kind enough to not say anything when he'd figured it out from the very first book.

I loved the way he'd figured it out, too, paying far more attention to Remus than himself. Just incredibly sweet.

This whole thing was lovely. Amazing job.

Ahaha, I love this. Love all the nods to bad fic (we've all read far too much of it *g*), and I also love that Sirius knew right away who wrote the books. Sweet ending too. :)
