Oh, yay for likable Lily. I feel like Rowling was kinda bad at writing likable or well-rounded women, so I'm always happy when fanfic authors manage to flesh them out better, as you have done here.
And Sirius is just so sweet here, taking care of Remus. And Madam Hooch's aerial snowball fights sounds FANTASTIC.

Sirius! Lily!
I love them becoming more at ease with each other. The sense of tension in their relationship is great. And all the little things around this - Petunia and Snape and the Prank.
Madam Hooch's snowball fights!

I rarely read HP fic anymore, but whenever I do I am delighted and so forcibly reminded of how much it's shaped my fannish experience!

Like I said in my notes, I'd initially sat down to write some hurt/comforty porn, but I'm really glad my subconscious won out. Not that I don't love all the Sirius/Lily porn out there (and there can never be enough Sirius/Lily/James porn! Hee!) still, I love the dynamic of their friendship even more. I've had a few "Lily finds out" scenarios in my head for years -- then again, I've had a lot of fic ideas floating around in there for years. Always with the ideas, not enough with the execution. Story of my fannish life, really. :-P Though clearly I had a bit of an explosion for this fest! -- but they were usually centered around James ( ... )
