Mods I have a question about the team name thing that is going up. Perhaps some names or rather mottos should be put up in unison, so that they compliment one another. So there will be instead of suggestions from someone for there own team but for both teams. So for example: MWPP-Boys at Play, Post-Men at Work. Ok not a real suggestion but I think you get my idea. Feel free to tell me to shut up any time.

Oh, that's a VERY good idea!

I can't say it was my own. I should mention wook77 and midnitemaraud_r really made me think more about it.

I'm not sure if this counts as fraternizing with the enemy ;) BUT...

In our mwpp team comm we have been discussing the idea of keeping the team names as they are and instead focusing on banners and icons to be used. So making matching icons for the teams but with the appropriate slogan or picture. That way icons could be matched to the type of story it is and the banner could be used for promo etc.

We came up with the idea because when we were suggesting team names they came out more as slogans and some of them were pretty damn funny and we didn't want to have to limit it to just choosing one.

To be fair I'm not sure if this is how it's going down or if we should do this as well as choosing team names but I just thought I'd mention it and see what you think.

Am I making sense? Sorry I tend to stop being coherent when I begin to ramble :)

Your name and team will be removed before posting.

I have a doubt here - well, not about the name, of course, but... why would the team be removed? *scratches head* There's probably something I'm not seeing, but I'm not really sure I see the point. :( Each member produces a story/art set in their Team's era, don't they?

Good point. It actually does not matter if it is removed or not. We were just attempting to avoid redundancy by posting without team name - mostly because it should be fairly obvious which team is which. The "Team" field was really intended to be for organization purposes only, but we can post it, too. It makes no difference as long as the mods can see it to sort and organize.

Question: Are you confirming with each participant that you've received their submission? I sent in my completed fic about a week ago, and never heard anything. I don't want to be pushy, but I *do* want to make sure that it arrived in one piece. :)

I'll confirm with justaidan and get back to you! He's the one who receives the responses. Thanks and good point!

Just a couple of quick questions before we send out entry in.

We've some formatting issues. It's essential that these sections be different from the rest. The entire story is in Times New Roman 10pt as required. However, I've coded a different font into the story with HTML where we needed it. There's also a couple of sections that need to be in italics as well. That's what we were supposed to do, right?

Also, should the fic be sent as an attachment or do you just want it in the body of the email? I read over all the mod posts but I couldn't find that information. I apologize if it was there and I overlooked it.

You can do so it as an attachment or in the body - it's up to you. I'll send you a confirmation when we get it and, if there are any issues with posting/coding/attachments, we'll immediately let you know.

Oh, and please feel free to italicize or code a different font into the story, etc. The only reason we went with the Arial/Times New Roman is so people don't do something funky and hard to read and end-up getting dinged for it in the end!

Just so you know, unless the font type and size is actually coded into the text with html, when you cut and paste from the word doc, it should just revert to the standard LJ font for the comm. I always write in times new roman 12 point in Word (10 is too small) and cut and paste with no problems. People in springsmut send their stuff in all different fonts and sizes as well, and it was never an issue.

Also, from my own experiences, I'd suggest having everyone send their stuff as an attachment, btw. When you c&p from the body of an email, it totally screws up the formatting, especially the margins.

And one more thing, echoing Kasche, I think you should keep the team in the headers as well. You can't always tell from the rest of the header which era/team it'll be, and it's really not that redundant, even if the subject of the post says "Team _______ Entry!"

I'm just waiting on my betas for my fic, so you'll have it later today. :)

Thanks!!

Yeah, we'd already decided to keep the team in the headers. I really don't know what I was thinking when I wrote that - I must stay off the crack!

As to the coding, thanks, again. That's a very good point.

And as to the attachment. Yes, it IS better, but some people have issues with attachments, so we thought it would be best to keep the options opened.
