sweet merlin, that was freakin' hilarious!

i'll admit that i am rather a fan of those pbs archaeology shows (as well as various you tube archaeology feeds) and there is a part of me that always wants to imagine some of those guys with each other, but this really takes the cake. the setting, the dialog, and the peripheral characters were utterly perfect. all those great women? dorcas, nigella, lily (of course), marlene, etc.? how any of them put up with sirius, i'll never know, but they were all quite wonderful. and remus and sirius were equally if not more wonderful. such amusing banter!

and i very much liked the whole set-up and mystery of it all. kelpies, of things! that was quite clever!

in fact, this whole story was just super original and clever. what a truly great day of r/s reading. thank you, mystery author, and thank you mods!

What a clever story. Completely original, and yet so full of all the magic we've come to love from these two. I can so very easily see Sirius as the voice of a show like this. And I loved that he still wasn't completely comfortable with the muggle technology, even after all this time.
"The news just came over the talking walkie!" he huffed into his lapel mic.
How absolutely perfectly Sirius.

And this:
In truth, Sirius didn't care if the whole Wizarding world knew he was happily shacked up with this man. But Remus liked what little privacy they had just the way it was, thank you, and that, Sirius would protect with his life.
I think I melted a little at that. What an amazing example of how Sirius feels about all of this. So incredibly sweet.

This whole thing was simply a blast to read. Amazing job!

You've reawakened my own love of Time Team! This was everything I didn't know I wanted in an AU, geophys and Baldrick references included :) The way you've merged the magical and the Muggle is glorious, from the simple things to the clever phrases like 'coming from so far off the Quidditch pitch'. You really fleshed out the location as well, I can picture the reconstruction graphics they'll use and love the little details like the trench wall collapsing. All the characters matched their roles perfectly too.

On a side note, I also definitely want to know more about extreme hide and seekers! Fantastic job.

UH this was so incredibly perfect and amazing in every way. You know there are stories where it just feels like everything is handled just right, and the characters seem so much themselves that they actually STOP being just characters and begin feeling like real humans? 'cos that's what I was getting here ( ... )
