The writing is wonderful, and the pacing is perfect.
Especially liked how at first everything about Sirius is so enticingly mysterious until we slowly discover why he is the way he is,
and I was struck by how well the reversal works in terms of their characters.
Also the werewolf in the nursery bit was great - the usually quiet dad suddenly towering to fight him... That a werewolf was Remus' first boggart, and now he's not only getting to know a werewolf but is actually falling in love with him - again, wonderful.
And loved(!) the matter of fact way we learn about Remus' passion for the moody boy, and how the fact he likes boys btw isn't a new thing - just beautifully done.
A real pleasure to read. Hat tip and handshake, can't wait for reveals! :)

And this line--what a great way to infuse a moment of tension without diminishing it, There are in fact many things he could know, from the colour of Evans’s underwear to the exact number of the giant squid’s tentacles, so Remus waits patiently for enlightenment.
Lovely!

What a bloody clever idea, switching their fates around and letting us have a glimpse of what they'd be like. I think you nailed it perfectly! I love how you portrayed the boys, how their personalities were still the same yet very different. The whole 'restless wolf' image that James mentions seems so very canonically Sirius, yet it's exaggerated slightly for the wild boy who is out of his element.
Beautifully written story. Gorgeous, in fact!
