Ah, inference and allusion, two of my favourite things in fiction! After the epic space opera, this was such a breath of fresh air, to not have to go into exhaustive amounts of detail about everything. One or two precise mentions were enough to hint that so much more was going on under the surface. I actually feel a bit guilty writing in this particular style sometimes - it almost feels like cheating XD
Sirius' longing In a way I guess that's coming to be one to the central characteristics of the way I write him? There's always something more there that he desperately wants but for one reason or another can't have, and the internal struggle between the two ensues.
on the couch Drunk characters are really intriguing to write. So much more honest, but also zagging off on tangents with a lot less impetus, so you never quite know where you'll be by the end. It was interesting how quickly Remus' impassive front, so stable with Lily, pretty much caved after two minutes with Sirius.

I love these quiet little fics where nothing much happens in the surface, nothing is directly said, but it doesn't need any saying because the feeling is already there. The details that suggest the trajectory of Remus and Sirius's relationship--how he'd been able to kiss Remus's hand at first, and then Sirius would try to warm his hands, but he doesn't have the right to touch anymore and Remus's acceptance that wasn't really said aloud. I love that.
And lol at Sirius getting stumped by an electric plug is the best thing ever. I can just see him shouting at it, commanding it to work. :D
This one was very much an impressionist fic, all in soft focus but for the most poignant emotional details. I'm a very big fan of hands in general: they're so telling. (You want to know what kind of life someone's had, their hands will tell you everything.) And I quite liked the progression of the image, from Sirius touching/Remus surrendering his hand, to Sirius not touching/Remus keeping his hands laced together and off limits, to Remus himself reaching out and thus granting forgiveness and permission to touch once more.
stumped by an electric plug *giggles* I couldn't resist. I imagine the reason it needed a Reparo was because Sirius tried to open it up, to see why the pistons weren't going XD. And when he saw it was a very different type of 'engine' to the one on the bike, he decided to consult a licensed practicioner of all things Muggle ^_~

Thank you! I didn't have time to write a full-fledged AU and do it justice, so something a bit more subtle seemed the way to go XD
