“Kiss me,” says Sam and tacks on, “to keep from making noise,” Sam, I am questioning your motivations!
I loved all of the little things that Sam notices about Castiel, and how they build together. It read to me like Sam doesn't exactly feel lust for Castiel, more that Sam has an affection for him coupled with the physical awareness, and then kind of seduces himself with the twin elements of good intentions sexy power. And, you know, I just love Sassy when it's complicated but well-intentioned. And Dean, at the end. I really liked him just being a teasing big brother.
Yeah, reading your comment, I have to agree. I don't think I wrote Sam as feeling lustful at all -- like he didn't see Castiel's hands or his neck or his feet and think awww yeah, tapping that asap. It's more that physical awareness that you mentioned, recognizing that Castiel is more human than angel these days and wanting Cas to be okay with that. But then good intentions and touching and giving Cas that good taste of what it means to be human, and then Castiel really liking those good things and how Sam is responsible for having given Cas that taste.
I think if Sam does this a couple more time though -- getting this routine now, where Cas will go to shower, but Sam will corner him beforehand and soaking in the very-human smell of him with the sweat and the grit and the very-human sound of him when he comes over Sam's hand... I think after that, there'd definitely be some lust in there.
