  1. Leave me a casual comment of no particular significance, like a lyric to your current favorite song, or your favorite kind of sandwich, maybe your favorite game. Any remark, meaningless or not.
  2. I will respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
  3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.

My favorite sandwich is a grilled cheese. My mom's grilled cheese to be precise. :)

1. What is the origin of your username?
2. Please recount one of your fondest memories.
3. If you could build the perfect place to live, what would it be like?

1. What is the origin of your username? It's a phonetic version of a Portuguese phrase that means "More for me!" It was one of my VoVo's (grandmother's) favorite phrases. I first used it in regards to the Ladies of the Line (waiting for B5's Garibaldi) back when I first got online and I've kept it ever since. Wow. That means I've been online for about 12 or 13 years now.

2. Please recount one of your fondest memories. Most any time I spent with my VoVo. We'd sit in her living room, surrounded by a hundred or so African violet plants, watching her stories and drinking tea and talking. I just always felt so wonderful and loved and enough there. I don't get much of that anymore and I do miss it.

3. If you could build the perfect place to live, what would it be like? It would be a warm open house, set back in a big clearing in the woods with a river and maybe a small pond on the property somewhere. It would have a couple of bedrooms, a beautiful sunny back deck, a screened in porch, a hot tub to soak my achy bones in, a nice ( ... )

Awesome, awesome, awesome! I am so glad I picked these questions.

Thanks for sharing the story in answer 5. It's nice to hear people commending SAHMs for the work they do. My parents don't care so much now but they used to give me such a hard time because I decided being a teacher just wasn't for me. Now I'll be able to use what I learned with Sophie. :)

Also, I wish more people would be into adoption. We didn't plan to have Sophie; she just snuck up on us. We had actually discussed the possibility of adopting if we ever decided to have children and both of us were for it (B's son was adopted by friends of his ex-girlfriend's family). I wish people didn't see it as a last chance sort of thing.

1. So, now I get to recursively ask you 5 questions?
2. If you adopted, would you go domestic or international?
3. If Dream Dinners went organic, what would you put on the menu?
4. Are you the kind who obsessively orders pictures, or the one who takes them off the camera but not off the computer?
5. Do you scrapbook?

I too hate it when people talk down adoption and treat it as something less than biological parenting. We made it clear in our "Dear Birthmother letter" that adoption was our first choice.

I do have some ideas in mind for my biz cards, the only question is scraping together the money to buy some. ;) Plus I need to get my old computer up and running since all the info (fonts, colors, whatnot) is on that one, not on the newer one I'm using now. But I appreciate the offer!

VistaPrint will give you 100 business cards for free, if I'm not mistaken.
