Great review. I enjoyed this movie, which surprised me. I expected the typical small-town robbers tragedy, however, the performances and psychological subtleties gave it an edge. Rebecca Hall and Ben Affleck were particularly effective.

I watched "Gone Baby Gone" a few years ago and liked it. "The Town" is better. Ben Affleck is getting better.

So, you feel that "THE TOWN" is better? Interesting. Still, I think I need to check out "GONE BABY GONE".

I have to disagree. There was nothing about his expression at the end of "THE TOWN" that reminded me of his last scene in "GOOD WILL HUNTING". But then, I've always thought that Ben Affleck was a first-rate actor. I've noticed that many people tend to dismiss very good looking actors as being talented - especially when they are young and viewed as sexpots.

As for the best movie of the year . . . I haven't come across it. I feel that "THE TOWN" comes close to it. I certainly wouldn't choose "THE SOCIAL NETWORK". It's a good little drama and somewhat interesting, but it didn't really light my fire. But the critics love it and I'm sure that it'll be collecting nominations.

Somewhat less generic than its title. Great story and cast.
