Am such a long time fan of this show! I loved the movie and saw it three times at the cinema. Was disappointed in Russell Crowe - "Stars" is one of my favourite songs, and he just didn't reach the emotional pinnacle. I'm not crazy about Amanda Seyfried's voice, but she was lovely in the role. Anne Hathaway was brilliant, and I just loved the rest of the cast. Such a different experience from seeing it in the theater. The camera close-ups, and soft poignant renderings of parts of some of the songs, really touches you in a deeper way than the stage show. Not at all meaning to detract from the theater experience, which has its own grandness and emotion. Les Mis is such a cathartic experience wherever it is performed!

I wasn't disappointed by Russell Crowe. In fact, I thought he should have been nominated for Best Supporting Actor.
