Wow talk about a blast from the past. Back when I was majorly into the SW fandom I wrote a LOT about Obi-Wan and all of his issues. I really did not like him at all and I could add quite a few points more other than arrogance to his list of "flaws."
This is a very interesting interpretation. (And this coming from a huge Obi-Wan fan.) Much as I adore Obi-Wan, one of the things I could never like about him was his telling Luke that Darth Vader killed his father. In a figurative sense, that could be interpreted as true--but that didn't enlighten Luke at all, because he didn't catch the hidden meaning.
I never saw Obi-Wan as being quite as arrogant as you do, but I do think the entire Jedi order got a little too comfy in its high position, and out of blind arrogance didn't prepare itself for attacks against its power.
If Obi-Wan was more humble and more flexible, would you have liked him better?
Some of your points I agree with - Obi Wan is noble but most certainly flawed. However, I object to some of your arguments, at least the extent to which you take them
