[Maybe your character's life was shitty for a long time and they cast the blame on the Greek god of fortune. But their life shined up, and...maybe wishing Eros'd shoot him through the eye or his mom'd get attacked by centaurs crossed the line. Or perhaps Hermes stopped by and asked your character to make a lantern and they haven't even worked out the preliminary design. Or they even beat him up while he was in disguise (and Hermes wanted to experience what a mortal fight was like) and a few of his fingers are in splints. Either way, he's anticipating an apology. It's fortunate that Hermes's difficult to anger.]
