Today i completed my long running workbench project. If i were making a proper table - like for actually indoors, i would definitely use different wood. Smashing my way through all the knots in the cheap pine has left a couple of ugly gouges and the bend in the planks made it impossible to get a decent butt joint to make the top seamless. I could have planed the edges flat but i get the impression they are going to move more anyway.
