[Blinking. Lots of it.]

Snappy little device, lets ya record images an' take video- hell, there's gotta be one built inta these mognet things, seein's they transmit video. Just, th'way we used 'em back home was so we could play back that video later or hang up pictures on the wall.

[He is dimly aware that he's probably wasting his breath explaining, but the shock of being asked that question won over his suspicion.]

Oooh, that's weird. I've never been able to take mine apart, but maybe you could get one of the engineers here to build one...

[Hold on, distracted by the shiny.]

You need any clothes for this?

Maybe. Not too worried about it, but Vincent'd probably like that.

[Not getting mushy over Vincent, nope. He doesn't want to scare away Kefka.]

[He snorts. Ever the opportunist, this one.]

Uh...well, might be a few of us droppin' by for cheap shirts and work boots, but I can't guarantee it.

[ Excellent. Gippal's dead bored without his tinkertoys in NW, and building means machinery. You can hear the excitement in his voice. ]

I'm in.

[Cid sympathizes. So much. Unfortunately, they're lacking the good machinery. Manual work for you, Gippal.]

Great! We'll letcha know when everything's ready, then.

...Uh. Who's this?

[He recognizes most voices by now, but this one is new.]

Huh, didn't introduce myself. The name's Gippal.

Eh, I do it all the time. Nice t'meetcha.

[Vaguely wondering if Vincent knows this guy, but the chances are slim. He'll ask later.]

Well, like I said, it'll be a little while. I still got some clearin' t'do, an' then we'll have everybody by to look over the plans. After that... [He shrugs, not caring that audio can't pick up a shrug.] Well, I'll see how many people pipe up. If there ain't many, you might find yerself employed long-term, so t'speak.

I could always help in making lunches for everybody if no one has all ready volunteered, Cid.

That'd be great of you!

I'll let you know when and how many people.

Count me in. Might be able to help with the processin', definitely the building.

[Might as well put all that stuff she learned in Oerba to use.]

[The mental image of Fang wearing welding goggles makes him snort.]

We'll be glad t'have ya!

If we're lucky, we'll get a couple o' ...less physically inclined people who wanna help out, an' they'll do th'measurin' an' chippin' an' whatnot. Us big kids can put th'blocks together, so t'speak.

If not, we'll put ya in an apron an' goggles.
[He snickers. She would probably hate that.]

[Damn right she would.]

Hmph. Won't need 'em. You even try and you'll be gettin' an unpleasant surprise where the sun don't shine.

[Hopefully he knew better. Maybe. Pffft, men.]

What's with the sudden need for a house, anyway?

[As soon as he stops chuckling...there we go.]

Noted.

[Let him just...wipe his eyes. Ahem.]

Well, it ain't so sudden, really. We'd been talkin' about it for a while, an' we found a place we liked. I've had the area roped off fer a little bit an' it ain't disappeared yet, so I reckon it's a good place.

[He smiles, and his voice takes on a fond tone.]

He wants t'be able t'hear the ocean while 'e's fallin' asleep, an' I wanna be able t'sleep without worryin' about bein' caught in th'hotel when it blows up.

[He's heard it has a habit of doing that every so often. Does not sound like fun. Well, except from the outside.]
