What do I have to do to get some CR around here? Seriously, I've tagged around, I've talked to muns about plot ideas, I've tried to make my posts interesting and open for tagging, and yet nobody will go near them. I'm about to give up and just drop the game because I'm sick of working so hard for nothing. It just isn't fun when only the same handful of people will bother to thread to me.

Are you around consistently, anon? What are your posts usually about? Are they about daily life, or questions for the population? Do you make sure to ping muns about the plot ideas and set dates for them? What do you mean no one will go near them - they don't get tagged at all, or only your character's CR will tag them? Are you tagging social characters or antisocial ones? Are you throwing your character(s) into plots with other characters? What about open memes in the lucetifans comm to showcase your character more?

Question onslaught, but every single one of these is important to follow through with... when I see people saying that they've put a lot of effort in and got nothing back I can't help but be skeptical because people who have never talked to other muns oocly don't seem to have this trouble, and if you say you have, well...

I also hate when I get the "NOBODY ELSE IS HAVING THIS PROBLEM SO CLEARLY IT'S YOUR FAULT" reaction from people.

Maybe I am just a boring player. Maybe people are deliberately avoiding me. But I'd like to think otherwise.

I've done posts that are both just "I'm going about my business" and "HEY I'M DOING SOMETHING UNUSUAL COME TALK TO ME." I've tagged a variety of different characters but even when I think it's started some interesting CR they don't come back and tag me in return, and therefore I assume they're not interested and try a different character instead. My existing CR (mostly canonmates) will tag me, but nobody else does. And I've thrown my characters into tons of memes and I don't get responses on those, either.

Seriously, I'm looking for help here, not veiled accusations that I'm not actually trying.

I've seen this attitude a lot in Luceti's players and it's really annoying.

It's especially bad in regards to long-standing plot elements, like the Malnosso or the draft. A lot of the oldbies seem to assume that because they understand everything that's going on, everyone else will too, and if the newer players are confused it's clearly because they're not trying/paying attention.

Actually, you are slightly off on that. If people are confused and don't ask questions or ask for clarifications on a confusing point, we can't know they are confused or what they are confused about.

Drafts usually have an OOC post for questions and plotting, for instance. If something is unclear or not explained, then asking is a good idea. That way people can answer the questions. The mods usually are still monitoring it even towards the end, but even so they can always be hit up via email, PM, or IM for questions. The chat also allows people to reach out to fellow players who can also be of help rather often. And this applies to things besides drafts.

But as they say, the only stupid question is the one that isn't asked. If people don't reach out when confused about something, we can't fix it.

I'm not saying that because other people aren't having this problem you couldn't possibly have it. But, I've seen far more cases on everything from plurk, to aim, to personal ljs - where I've seen people only tag around and only end up tagging characters that typically don't respond to others, or they don't tag around nearly as much as they think they do and get upset when not everyone is flocking to their character. I'm not looking for everyone to tag my posts, just... someone. Anyone different. I don't want to compete with the people who get 500+ comments in a post, I just want to break 100. Or 50, in many cases.

I never played at a journal-based game before Luceti so that's part of why I'm lost. Do I have to be in chat to get people to tag me? (If so I'm screwed, because I can't, for several reasons.)

I might just be particularly frustrated atm because I'm having a bad day, but I wanted to vent and look for suggestions. Thank you for being friendly, anon. I appreciate it. :)
