Musical Chairs round. Help for making him as clever as he is when I am very much not as clever as he is would be appreciated, as would help for getting him to CR with people without outside circumstances forcing him to.

No problem! And as I didn't touch on the other part...a great deal of cleverness is just thinking through the possibilities, and unlike Akiyama you won't have to do it in real time. Short version: try to come up with multiple options before you decide on one in particular (and maybe have a second or a third option if the first ends up failing), show your work and have Akiyama reason through it ICly, and coordinate with players OOCly so it doesn't seem like you're pulling stuff out of your rear.

I suggest looking for advice on how to RP Sherlock Holmes and Light Yagami because those two characters would have some of the same basic issues of how to be smart ICly without being an OOC godmode.
