Particularly interested in how people suggest handling the gender thing considering it's kind of inconsistent in canon, but general advice is good too.

Far as gender goes, well it's been a bit since I've read Runaways, but I'm pretty sure I recall Karolina testing and being all moody with Xavin because she wanted to know what gender Xavin thought of him/erself as and in the end it was decided Xavin was female.

That's pretty much all I got though!

Echoing anon. Xavin doesn't really see any problem with sex/gender personally, she'll transform to suit the situation. But her default form is female - as shown in the arc when they ~*~go to the past~*~ - which means she obviously thinks of herself as such. I honestly got really annoyed with the Civil War issues for drawing her in her male form, but that's for another tiiime

It does depend on where you take her from, obviously. But I don't know if anyone would pick her up from before she and Karolina venture of to the stars~~~ so. I hope that helped?
