In May or June of my freshman year of high school, I went looking for wolf pictures on the internet, and stumbled across a wolf roleplay forum attached to the site. From wolf I diverted into horse and tiger, briefly, before settled into shapeshifter for a while. From shapeshifter I verged into vampire, modern fantasy and finally to medieval, where I made my home. So that would make it - four years ago, or possibly a little under that.

Mmmmm...since I was 12 years old, so in 1998. My dad taught me to play DnD, hehe. I then moved online to AOL chats and message boards, and still RP on message boards. I prefer system-based games (I can't stand freeform/writing games) and play actual tabletop RP (offline) whenever I get a chance. All the games I play now are tabletop converted for people to play on a message board.

I played RPG games such as Monkey Island, The Dig, Sam and Max etc since I was about 9/10, due to these being brought by my brother, but didn't start doing online text games until I was 18 (I'm 19 now) as I was bored and wanted a distraction from revision. I started D&D in September due to friends. I also started LARP last year.

I'd known about RPing since highschool, however my family life didn't allow me to explore it. I actually met people in 2003 that actually RPed in both Tabletop and online settings. I started out on the crack that is Exalted and then started collecting WoD Vampire and Demon. I GMed Vampire: TM while playing in other Werewolf and Exalted games. I've tried BESM. I was invited to join an LJ Final Fantasy game. After I left that, I've mostly been RPing one on one with people and trying to get my own LJ RP off the ground. I also have GW, but haven't found anyone online to RP with or anyone who understand basic strategy. *bangs head on wall*

I've been RPing since the summer before my 8th grade year and I'm now in the middle of my junior year (llth grade, for all you non-Americans ;D), so about three years. I discovered RPing through a LotR guild on Neopets called "Light of Lothlorien" when they had an RP day and everybody could just RP. A couple of weeks later, I ventured off to the RP boards of Neopets and began my ruthless on slaught- and have been addicted since ( ... )

I suppose what keeps me interested in RPing, is that I've always loved creating my own story. From a young age, I was constantly creating stories in my head and even before I knew what RPing was... I had characters in mind that I just messed around with my head. RPing allowed me to utilize these characters and ideas and let's me improve my writing.

-Waves- me too. RPing has helped me sooo much when it's come to my writing, too.

I started out writing fan fics, basically. Star Wars fan fics/scripts. XD And then my sophomore year I wrote my first "real" original fantasy story, based on a role play, and I wrote both Star Wars fan fics and original fantasy stories. But over the last year and a half (...though not recently) I've been working on an original fantasy story and it was the ONLY thing I was working on, until NaNo came and I decided to try it and I ended up writing something seperate, though that story is also based on a role play.
