Actually, sometimes I feel like it would be better if mods didn't play their own games (aside from npcs if necessary). Reason being--I've seen a lot of cliques form around mods and it starts a lot of problems, especially if people feel like a mod is playing favorites. Somehow, I would think that if the mods were not a part of the active cast, it would not only give them more impartiality (either real or imagined, depending on whether or not there were real problems in the first place) and it would leave them more time to do modly stuff and make sure the game runs smoothly.
