This is actually ganked from Prettier Than Napoleon1) Scientist Biography Comic Books - I don't know if they still have these, but before I was 10, I have read the comic book bios of: Galileo, Pasteur, Marie Curie (Cool. interesting...
1. L.FrankBaum books (wizard of Oz series)- opened my mind to sci fi & other bokos that don't require "reality" per se- plus I'm pretty sure he's why I'm a word geek
2. The Lion, the witch & the wardrobe series (most influential was the final ]battle where the soldier of the "bad guys" who didn't worship aslan went to the lands because of his devotion to *his* god rather than aslan....
3. Pilgrim's Progress- the first real book I read- I ws in secvond graxde & my dad was teavhing foutrh grasde bible school.
Not precisely sure how this book effected me but I'm very certain it's imbedded in my consciousness....
4. Heinlein's number of thebeast & A stranger in a strange land- broadened my perspective & made poly more acceptible in my life when I was ready for it....
5. bits & pieces of other books I have never finished ;)
