Summary: Sometimes it’s easier not to remember.
“What are you wearing?” Cassie asked, nose wrinkling at her friend.
Cedric looked down at himself. “Quidditch uniform - I used to play a lot back at school. I guess was remembering.”
“Oh. I used to like acting,” Cassie offered. “I was going to try out for Juliet in our play.”
Her clothing changed - to an ornate Shakespearean gown, then back to a simple navy dress.
It had been a long time since he’d seen her in that dress - the dress she was buried in. “You looked back again, didn’t you?”
Cassie looked away, fighting tears. “I think my birthday just went by again,” her voice trembled a little. “I’d have been 23.”
They’d both decided not to look back anymore - it hurt too much - but he understood why she sometimes did. Still, she was like his little sister and he couldn’t bear to see her sad.
“I have an idea.” He closed his eyes and concentrated. Clothing was easy, but larger things…
When he opened his eyes they were standing on a Quidditch pitch, both dressed in Huffle colors. “Come on. I’ll show you a few plays.”
Her eyes lit up, the life she would never have forgotten. “Cool.”
