I've been writing for 15 years and just lately, I'm having trouble with to/too and you're /your. Is it encroaching senility, or just these other fuckers ruining me by constantly getting it wrong, until it starts to look normal

Grammar is integral to my profession as an editor, and I find that the more I write, the more often those kinds of mistakes come up! The key is that we can figure them out and fix them. :-D An especially big one for me is homonym confusion. I occasionally even have to Google which of two words that sound the same I actually want. In some way I think it's the opposite of any sort of "senility" or decreased acuity--it's more that we're doing MORE and therefore there's more to think about

People love apostrophes. There must be some secret place where they had them out--probably right next to the bushel baskets full of ellipsis that my beloved beta insists I cut. I live for Google because I don't trust myself for a hot minute!
I've often thought, if we could keep up that incredible pace of rapid acquisition of and hunger for knowledge, human kind's potential would be unlimited.
So true! It's almost frightening how much they learn, how fast! And how they connect everything they learn to build huge chains of information! It's fascinating!
Lol! I ended up moving vinyl records all day--just in case they really, truly do come back, we want to be prepared. Says the wife who, if she had a choice, would be moving those darn things right out onto the street. ;D
I did see that I have a treat in store for me, thanks very much! ♥
Ah, man. I'm so with you there, re: slowing down. It's hitting me harder and harder every winter - i just want to curl up in the warm and veg to fic and shows!! I know if i had someone nearby to do stuff with, i'd be more active, but just me? Sloth. *clings*
I hope you and your soon-to-be-bigger family settle in without much fuss. But you *must* stake out a small corner for a desk and computer and keep on fandom-ing! You must. What would we (I) do without you? *clings harder*
So dull, dreary, grey and cold here today, and they say snow tonight/tomorrow. BAH. Time to warm up with pretty, pretty boys. :D *luffs*
I hear you! I keep thinking, "Well, Show will be done and so will I" but I know that's not so. I've been looking around the house, trying to figure out which little corner to steal. I know all the posters and whatnot will have to go and I'll miss them, but girl, if worse comes to worse, I'll empty out my closet and park my butt in there. :)
I have no plans to leave you, my friend! I will be here as long as I can hold my little head up! ♥
Awwwwwwww. Yeah, that's a bummer. BUT! You can get one of those eframes, that have a little thumb drive, and put aaaaaaaalll your favorite boy pictures on it, on shuffle, and put that on your desk. :D
A closet would work. Now Monstrous could never do that, she needs every available inch of closet space and then some. *snerk*
*smishes you tight* I look forward to being here to help you hold your head up!! :D
If the posters are unbacked, you can roll them, use a little winerack thing to store them, like precious ancient scrolls. Or if they're framed (for values of "framed" that equal those plastic poster frames from, like, Spencer's) you can stand them up in a stack against one closet wall. Um, why are you looking at me like that? I've never had much fandom merch--nothing I have to relinquish, anyhow. But yes, do find a defensible corner where you can hide inviolate (heh, I did just spell that 'inviolet,' speaking of homophones) and read and write fic
