As time went on and the entire world was all CHUCK CHUCK CHUCK DOLLHOUSE DOLLHOUSE DOLLHOUSE DOLLHOUSE and not a word was breathed about SCC ever, I knew there wouldn't be a shot. The media banded behind Chuck and were more interested in Dollhouse's chances because it was Joss. And, unfortunately and bizarrely, SCC wasn't actually as universally adored by critics as it ought to have been. So there wasn't a lot of pressure on Fox.
I mean, I really have no idea what role the media and critics play in these decisions, but I do know that if I were a network, I'd care more about the show everyone was talking about, you know? I could be making stuff up.
I'm actually kind of surprised how little I'm affected. I broke down crying when Veronica Mars was finally cancelled, and that sure wasn't that big of a surprise either. That was different, though, I guess. You're into SCC the way I was into VM. Probably more.

Meanwhile, I actually thought we had a lot of momentum going. TSCC seemed to be included in every article, list and poll about shows on the bubble. And the fans did an awesome job of uniting for the cause without simply copying past tactics. But I guess we got too overlooked by the big news sources.

But yeah, TSCC is way bigger for me on a personal level. And yes, I did actually cry. So weird to be so affected by a TV show. I'm glad you're not sitting there thinking I'm nuts for since you've been through it with VM. At least I hope you don't think I'm nuts. Then again

I don't even understand how they could cancel TSCC and keep Dollhouse, and I'm one of the few people I know who actually LIKES Dollhouse. I don't think I can even watch it, now.
Yeah that baffles me too. I didn't like Dollhouse, but my husband did, I know you did and plenty of others did. Yet it's ratings tanked once TSCC was done. So you'd think they would've kept those shows together to see how the Friday night sci-fi block would do in the fall. But instead they replace TSCC with sitcoms?! That's a slap in the face. It really is.
I don't want to be bitter at Dollhouse or wish for it's demise because it's petty and cruel to Dollhouse fans who might very well be in this same position in December or May of next year. But honestly, I don't know if I can help myself. I don't think I can help but wish for Fox's Friday night to crash and burn.
OK, I just sent an email to the Sc-Fi channel (I just used the email address they have for feedback on their website), asking them to consider picking up the show... I don't know if it will help, but I thought it was worth a shot. If you guys hear of any kind of campaign, or if you have any idea of what else people can try, let me know.
(I know, this is the third time I've posted this reply over 3 different TSCC-related LJs... I apologize for the repetition, if this is the third time you've read this!)
