:(

Does this mean you didn't like Brothers of Nablus?

It's definitely got a different feel and tone so far this season. I haven't stopped loving it and I hope you can find something that you enjoy in it somewhere, too. I dunno what else to say.

*hug*

Edit: Gah, put this in the wrong spot.

Oh I'm not going to stop watching or anything. It's still a great show and I still love it. But I don't OMG LOVE it and I miss that OMG LOVE. It's the change in format, the change in sets, the change in lighting and editing and music. Everything is different. And there are so many characters we're following, that I feel lost in the shuffle.

The change obviously worked since the fans seem really happy with it. But I miss the intimate show that made me *feel* the characters. I was also one of the handful of people that loved TSCC before Derek arrived. I loved it after Derek arrived too, of course, but I was happy even when it was just Sarah, John and Cameron. I liked that small show about a big story. Now we're a big show about small stories.

Yeah. I think there's something to say about the power of intimacy when it came to the originally smaller cast. That's why episodes 5-9 are still some of the best in the show still to this day.

Though I still /love/ Samson and Delilah. Great episode.

I think they lost some tension. We know more than the main chars do; Catherine is a Terminator but John and Sarah don't even know that she's the bad guy yet. So how are they going to stop her? Being this far into the season with no clash between protagonist/antagonist is weird!! All the secondary chars are getting worked over. Go and melt the chick already. This is the same problem that Superman Returns had, where Superman didn't know Lex Luthor was doing anything diabolical until the final moments of the film. Not enough tension.

I want to see Derek get with the pregnant lady more than Jesse (who I think is obviously a terminator clone).

Did you read my fic I posted in the forum? At least I can always write it the way I want it to be. I am really happy with all the characters they created for this show.

Totally. There is definitely a loss of tension and part of that is the ever-expanding cast of characters and side stories. I think the main arc is still supposed to be The Turk, but you'd never know it. There's been not a single intersect between it and our main characters for 7 episodes now ( ... )

Butting in to say I think you have a good point. The problem with this season is the lack of tension. It's very plodding.

I wonder if this would have happened no matter what though, once they had to expand to a 22 episode format. Part of me wishes it was a Doctor Who style show, 13 episodes made at once with a tight and deliberate arc/story.

I don't think the expansion to a full season is the reason because they had like 10 of these eps already filmed before the back 9 were even ordered.

Are you still watching the show?

It would have to get really corny for me to stop watching or they would have to position Battlestar Galactica over its timeslot. I like my monday nights watching the show.
