I think I'm on some kind of unofficial house cleaning strike (although it's getting more official with each passing day). Every day I look at my rugs and think "Yeah, I need to vaccuum those. I'll do that later." Later I think "I'm definitely going to vaccuum tomorrow." This cycle has been going on longer than I care to disclose. There's an empty ( Read more... )

Strike?...I'll join, while I can...at the end of the day (or month) I have to clean anyway or pay to the lady that cleans...or rent another appartment (that is clean)...

Awesome.

Hey, I like the idea of paying someone to come and do it. I don't think she'd put my things away though - I'd still have to do that just so she could clean!

I realized my cleaning strike won't last more than another week at the most anyway because then I get into vacation preparation time. And if there's on thing I can't stand, it's coming home from a trip to a messy house. So I have to clean before I go away.

Why not just sucker the husband into doing it? ;)

Yesterday I commented on what a disaster the house was and his response was "so?" He can not be suckered into cleaning. And he'd do a really bad job of it anyway.

If I was really busy or we were in the middle of a home improvement project I'd at least have an excuse for my slacker ways. But I've had almost no work to do for the past couple weeks. I've had plenty of time for cleaning. I just. Don't. Wanna.

It'll pass. I'll clean soon. I really don't think I can hold out much longer.

Ahhh. Much admiration for the non-suckerable hubby then. ;)

I recently had to do a big cleaning day around my own house. When the laundry stood up, yelled 'I can't take it anymore' and then did the dishes, I knew it was time.

It's all clean and spick and span now.

You'll come around like Cromartie to an FBI party.

So you're saying that if I wait a little longer the laundry might do the dishes for me? Kewl.

You'll come around like Cromartie to an FBI party.
What a great line :D

I do the exact same thing constantly. In fact, I'm way overdue to take out the recycling. I'd better do it today or it probably won't get done until Tuesday.

So I'm not the only one. Good :)

I did actually clean my kitchen last night - floor and everything. So I guess the strike is over even though my heart still isn't in it. And those rugs in need of vacuuming... still staring back at me ;)

Oh man, paper recycling we tend to neglect badly. The pile gets huge. They only pick up once every 2 weeks though, so whenever we miss it, it's pretty significant.

I don't vacuum very often. It's the most neglected aspect of my apartment's cleaning. Every once in a while I think that I should vacuum some of the dust collecting at the edges of the room and then promptly forget about it. For a guy who's so fastidious about personal hygiene, I can be a real slob sometimes when it comes to my home.

But I did manage to take the recycling out today, which is good. Pretty much all food and drink related: bottles, cans, cereal boxes, milk cartons, etc. For once most of it can't be blamed on gaming night, since I had just been forgetting to take it out when I had a day off, and didn't feel like dealing with it any day I worked.

What is it about vacuuming? I would rather clean the bathroom than vacuum.

Damn. Paper recycling night. I think I'm gonna need a BIG box.
