sometimes i get junk mail that arrives in my inbox with the wrong date. i think the junk mail people do this so that i have to go to the very beginning of my inbox (which contains emails from 2003; i am not a very tidy inbox keeper) in order to delete it. most of the emails are dated a year or two ago, and some of them are even dated from like ( Read more... )

Hmmmm. 1980? I was just about 20 and making money hand over fist- I should have INVESTED in Microsoft- if I had, I would be flying all of my LJ friends to the Chalet!!

According to wikipedia, the net was in a rudimentary form since the late 50s/early 60s, although it was a private thing...the actual internet didn't even get its first TCP/IP network until January 1983...more info here:

i know, for a long time i had something like 8 unread messages and i had no idea where they were. they weren't in my Trash box or anything. then i checked the very beginning of my inbox and there they were, a bunch of emails apparently sent in the mid 90s.

I'm thinking your spammers don't have their date set. Or just their zombie computers.
