Well, first of all, I had the easiest interview of my life Sunday-- I literally walked in and was greeted by Kathy saying "Welcome back! Oops, I wasn't supposed to tell you that".  I will be out of the world of GapCards and sales rallies and back to filling out feedback forms, cleaning fish tanks, and hopefully wearing a new petsmart polo that will ( Read more... )

LMAO Arlo soooo needs a girlfriend. :)
Mom got an email back from his breeder. They had had a clutch of two girls, but since she didnt know mom was interested in finding out about both males (for matthew) and females she didn't let her know. However, they should have a new clutch fairly soon, and she will let my mom know as soon as she has babies!

http://lotsofnoise.com/ click listings by night.

Good ol' AS220 is pretty tried and true for a $6 show. Always keep an eye out for Mahi Mahi, Triangle Forest, The Viennagram, What Cheer Brigade, and Llove. Always well spent on those guys, but srsly whoever's playing you get to watch boys dressed up as intellectual lumberjacks or James Joyce drinking outside.

Lots Of Noise leans a little more underground, and often the listed shows end up being at some RISD kid's apartment or something. But definitely a site to keep an eye on-- it's basically the pulse of the indie music scene in this lovely city.

Check to see if NEF will reimburse you for shows, if they are paying you for articles. They should, as long as it is chiefly a business expense. Happy hunting!

I don't think they are reimbursing me at first-- it's an unpaid internship. Besides, local shows are like 6 bucks a pop, I think I can handle that if it means getting into the "industry" at the ground level hahah.
