I saved userpic 1 and the second banner with the verse. Also userpic 26 and matching banner. They're beautiful.
What program are you using for animation, please? I can animate snow with no problem, but not rain without going over 40kb. I have Paint Shop Pro and Adobe Fireworks CS3.
Thank you :)
BTW, achieving any animation is a +++ ... it make you feel good doesn't it?
Yes, Im now determined to make almost everything animated! I've always wanted to do animated icons!
Well, lets see if I can explain how I did the rain effect in a way that makes sense....
First I made long rain-like texture and then I set that over my base in a semi-transparent mode. Since the texture was far larger than the icon base, I then dragged the texture through the base and saved it at various intervals.
So now I have several rain bases that look almost alike (but the rain is in different places on it). I then opened it up in gimp, and set all the bases as layers and then saved it as a gif animation.
It works alright under the 40 kb limit as long as you dont go over 5 frames (sometimes more or less depending on the base)
Actaully, I did all the animations in a similar fashion in gimp. (except #16)
"I can't believe you got such excellent results in Gimp."
It took several tries a much experimenting before I got it to the point where it looked decent.
I actually dont like gimp all that much. I make all my icons in a program called photostudio by arcsoft (a free program that came with my printer). photostudio may not do much snazzy stuff, but I love it and can make it work for me. So all the bases I made for the rain affect, were actually made in photostudio, and then I just used gimp to turn them into an animation.
