Pokemon GOing

When Pokemon GO came out two years ago, I didn't download it. This was only because I had an ancient phone at the time and Pokemon GO wouldn't run on it. I wanted to play it -- everyone else I knew was. Even my co-workers were all playing. But I didn't want to play it badly enough to (a) get a new phone that (b) wouldn't have a physical keyboard.

I heard somebody say the other day that the two weeks after PokeGo came out were the closest we've ever come to world peace. :)

Oh gosh

You're right

Clearly we need more addictive exploration games that will bring our world together in harmony. Brief, fleeting harmony. :D

I think as long as you don't bike faster than 20 mph, you should be able to hatch eggs that way. I started playing PokeGo when it came out because the museum where I work had a gym and a Pokestop. Recently they added places and we now have two gyms and two Pokestops. It's brought a whole different demographic to our museum, and some of them stay and check out our exhibit. It's fun!

I shall send a friend request - I'm WriterSteph. :)

It looks like I get credit for like 10-30% of the distance i bike. I don't get the "you're going too fast!" nagging, but it's obviously not counting the full distance. Still, it's more fun than walking and I get to Pokestops faster, so worth it. :)

I played Pokemon Go from the begining, but after the changes made last summer, lost interest and quit for several months. I still don't enjoy it like I once did or spend near as much time, but I picked it back up a few months ago, because it does encourage me to walk more. There is a park with many stops along a 1/2 kilometer loop around a pond near my home and I walk several evenings a week. About half the time, my wife walks along as well.

I will add you as a friend. I'm MightyMacDude. When you have less than 10 gifts, you get another one every time you sping a stop, so you could have quite a few friends. If you do not want to get eggs from your gift, make sure you have the full 9 before you open the gift.

There is no handholding from Niantic. You have to really work at it to learn all the aspects of the game. The Pokestop which gave you nothing either hadn't properly loaded yet, or it did give you things and didn't change color or show what it gave. That happens on a regular basis.

Ah! I was wondering who that was. :D

Good to know about the gift-replenishment process! I figured it capped at ten but wasn't sure how fast they restocked. Also means that I need to send gifts out just before I go to a new area, if I want cool new postcards to send. 😊

Also, good to have new Pokemon friends! I go to a lot of stops each day and am in no danger of running out of gifts!

When I was in Wichita last month, I made a point of using up all gifts so I would have some cool different ones.

I threw away some of my gifts today so I could replace them with cooler ones. :D

I didn't get a new gift every time I hit a pokestop and had fewer than 10; it was more like 50% of the time. Still often enough, though.
