February Goals: Failing at All the Things

February was my month to Fail at All the Things. I'd have to double-check, but I don't think I accomplished any of the things I had on my list.

Okay, there were a few things on the list that were so easy I couldn't flub them.

Good for you on accounting for the goals you did hit!

I think length expectations have increased, so background scenes are probably not bad, but you should put tag markers into them. Maybe all-caps words like [BACKGROUND], [CHARACTER], and [PLOT]. Then you can go back and try to bring together scenes so they ideally contain all three, but first comes sorting things out so you know what you've got!

I started an actual outline (based on what I wrote as opposed to my original plan of what I was going to write) and was marking down this, because I thought that would be an easier way to visualise it than by marking up the text with it.

So far, absolutely everything is setting, almost everything is character, and about half of it is plot. Apparently I write a lot of stuff that is not technically needed to tell the story. c_c
