Glad to hear the doctors office isn't always horrible. Group Health was always pretty good about urgent care appointments (although I'm pretty sure this is one of the cases where I would have called the nurse hotline and had them tell me it was a bruise), but I've heard the horror stories too. o.o;

I suspect they'd've told me to come in anyway so they could look for other causes (like a blood clot or if I had any fracture symptoms at all). I am not sure if there is a nurse hotline in this area.

Yeah I was gonna say if it takes 6 weeks to get a drs appt you need a new practice. I can usually get in for urgent issues same day. Also my drs group has after-hours clinic.

Shop around.

But sounds like your place works out ok.

scheduling gyno's and routine physicals is farther out because they take longer and are not urgent.

I did not realize this! Now I know better, though. :) And yes, they took me same-day. My doctor herself is awesome and wonderful and I adore her and I am never getting another doctor if I can possibly help it. Because it took me like 40 years to get a doctor that I thought of as "my doctor" so KEEPING HER. :D

I'm glad it wasn't anything too serious. Just don't push it. *glares at his right calf that still twinges after two months of recovery from over-training*

I think I'm okay on that front -- I haven't had it significantly hurt more after exercising yet. It is *still* bruised and swollen, though. Wow, this is a long time to recover. :)
